My homelab is a collection of servers running various services that allows me to learn the tools and skills necessary to administer IT infrastructure. Through it, I have learnt how to use enterprise-grade tools to build and maintain a centralised network.
Things regularly change within my homelab because I use it to try new technologies all the time. If you’re interested in what it currently looks like, it’s worth taking a look at the wiki that I endeavour to keep up to date.
I’ll talk about some of the key things I have tried throughout the rest of this page.
The majority of the compute power within my homelab has come from consumer-grade hardware and single-board computers. Examples include old HP business machines and Raspberry Pis.
In addition to this, I have experience working with Ubiquiti hardware for networking (including with EdgeRouters and Amplifi equipment).
Some of the software I have had deployed in my homelab are:
